Apple iPhone: Sleekness and Functionality in One Small Package

Tags: , ,

One of the positive aspects that technology innovation has brought us is the evolution of the modest cell phone into a virtual hand held computer. However, these ‘smart phones’ have been criticized badly over the past few years due to their awful software, not being user-friendly, sound setbacks, poor playback features and annoying battery life. In view of this, manufacturers have taken their time and poured countless cash into research and development in order to perfect their products. However, none of them have been proven to be as efficient as Apple Inc. The company, which has been known as the leader of modernism with their lineup of products that excels standard assumptions when it comes to longevity and product features, has decided to release their own version of these ‘smart phones’ – the name, which I’m sure you’re aware of is the Apple iPhone.

The History of the Apple iPhone

It was December of 2004 when people all across the globe first heard the news about the aim of Apple Inc. Their plan was to create a phone that was sure to fit the demand of the present generation. They even had Motorola as their partner. However, after a grueling 10 months during which the iPod nano was enjoying the title of being the most sought of consumer product, the two companies released the awful ROKR E1 which brought massive shame and indignity. After this dreadful debut showing, the two companies parted ways. After some time, the ‘true Apple iPhonewas released on January which was announced at Macworld 2007. After the launching, the new phone obtained almost instant acclaimed support by cell phone reviewers. This eventually lead the product to be named the most hyped consumer electronics device ever in history.

I am one of those lucky few who waited for the launching of this really cool product. In fact, I’m one of the very first people who had the experience of using its scrolling features. Without any sense of bias, I can say that indeed, iPhone is the best phone so far in history. It boasts intelligent features, sleek design, sturdy parts, exclusive product quality- and every feature it has was worth my money! It is comparable to the iPod in terms of its beautiful new interface for music and video playback. So far, this is the most efficient web browser anyone has ever seen on a smart phone. Using the Apple iPhone interface, I can open my mail fast - anytime and anyplace I want - because of its vigorous email software. Moreover, it is programmed to be compatible with both Microsoft Windows PC and Apple Macintosh computers (click here for the MacBook Air review) because of its Apple iTunes software.

The Apple iPhone First Impression

First impressions count big. This is what I observed after people had seen my phone: total shock and excitement. Indeed, in the entire history of smart phones, the Apple iPhone possesses the largest and highest-resolution screen I’ve ever seen, packed with outstanding battery life and memory capability.

I would say that the most intriguing feature of the Apple iPhone is the fact that it was able to remove the physical keyboard since it is excellently packed with a virtual keyboard on the touch screen. Moreover, it was able to go beyond the ordinary because of its unique features like widgets that allows the user to access the weather, stock prices and Google Maps. Also, there is another widget that tenders the chance to play videos from YouTube. Indeed, this is the best phone my eyes have ever seen!

MacBook Air: The Thinnest Notebook in the World

Tags: ,

The MacBook Air is driving me nuts – in a good way! A techie person just like me is definitely aware that laptop designs always compromise size for their features and value. Back in the day, manufacturers never were able to make a laptop good enough to be a replacement for desktop computers given that they always failed to squeeze the entire unit into a small portable size. Something was always missing. So the way notebooks and laptops always worked was that it was always the case that the lighter a laptop was, the more compromised the features were. However, enter MacBook Air. Once the Air has come onto the scene, this perception has suddenly changed.

Basically, the MacBook Air is the latest Intel-based laptop created by Apple. It came out as a surprise because it is the lightest and thinnest laptop in the entire history of computing! It’s so thin and sharp you could attach it to a stick and chop a watermelon in half – but I wouldn’t recommend it. The shell casing is made up of shiny aluminum just like the MacBook Pro – however, this model is created with sleek curves. The keyboard lights up when used, something that usually does not come in laptops. This light-up feature is especially handy for night-time computing!

The Guts of the Macbook Air

The MacBook Air possesses an Intel Core 2 Duo chip mounted on a specially created package. It also contains a extra-small motherboard that permits the reduction of overall width. The LCD screen is elegantly emphasized by a backlight that contains LEDs - this allows the user to save battery life and allows for the screen to be dimmed much lower than CCFL screens – again, this is to better save battery life. Features that any computer techie would look for in a laptop are available, like Bluetooth 2.1 EDR and Wireless N/B/G. However, to my dismay an ethernet port was not provided, however a USB to ethernet jack is available to be purchased separately. Moreover, an optical drive is also lacking. Nevertheless, all of these lacking features can easily be purchased through upgrades via Apple so I really don’t fret that much.

Despite the MacBook Air’s small size, it doesn’t feel fragile at all! Of course I never tested its strength by trying to jump on it, however by merely taking a good test of the product you notice that the keyboard feels solid. With this, you can rest assured that this is unlike those rampant kinds of light-weight laptops where after a short period of time, they bust and start to function worse than Teddy Ruxpin when the tape breaks.

Indeed, if you are a person who takes size, weight, and style into the equation when buying a new laptop then the MacBook Air is the best for you! You’ll get the same functionality of a bigger notebook minus the hassle of carrying along something which is too heavy and puts a crease into your shoulder and lap. After purchasing the MacBook Air I don’t have to worry about attending business trips in different places with a fat laptop because now I have a light-weight companion to join me anytime. Moreover, because of its sophisticated look, everyone who takes a look at my lap will most definitely praise me for being able to afford an elegant laptop when the truth is, it costs just as much as the other bulkier laptops around. And because it is Apple’s made, I can rest assured that I will get all the same features that makes the company popular.

Apple TV: The New Face of Digital Entertainment

When the Apple iPod was first launched, people went crazy over the ultra-intuitive features and functionality. Now with the Apple TV, there has been a major hype created which has even convinced tons of non-Apple fans to go out and try this out for themselves. The basic run-down of the Apple TV is this: it’s a device that bridges iTunes to a HD or ED TV. This enables the user to watch TV, play movies, jam out to music, listen to podcasts and see music videos.

The question now is this: Is it worth to have an Apple TV in your living room?. The answer to the question presented is really dependent on you as the user, but my personal recommendation is that you get one right now! I’ll recommend it even more highly if you are a lover of anything Apple and a new technology aficionado. I’ll hook you up with an overview of the pros and cons of Apple TV – this’ll help you decide if (or when) you have to get one for yourself.

What Happens When You Order and Receive Your Apple TV

When you get your own Apple TV, don’t be surprised if you only receive a power cord in the Apple TV packaging. All the other cable attachments needed for proper Apple TV operation you’ll have to buy in retail stores (think Best Buy, Circuit City, Apple Store, etc) which can cost a bit. In the end though it’ll be worth it because you’ll get your Apple TV working and showing you some badass television shows, music, and podcasts! When you take a look at the Apple TV construction, you’ll notice it’s built with an excellent eye for quality and all parts are definitely done in the highest precision, which you can always really expect from Apple merchandise.

The newest version of Apple TV that came out (AppleTV Version 2.0) is an even upgraded and updated version that you’re going to want to update and download to immediately – making your Apple TV the hub of your living room entertainment. At the current Apple TV price, there’s no way you can tell me that this isn’t a ridiculously versatile piece of entertainment equipment that’ll let you do almost anything related to Apple iTunes. Even better, this new version features easy Mac integration and you won’t need a computer whenever you want to watch rented movies.

An Inside Look at the New Apple TV v2 GUI

With the new AppleTV v2 the already excellent user interface is improved even further with the new two column look, major categories on the left and subcategories on the right. If you are a new user of the Apple TV 2.0, you won’t notice the improvements, but if you are one of those old-school users that got the first version, it’ll take a few minutes or seconds of your time to get the hang of the new user interface that Apple has thrown out there with the new version. As expected, everything remains simple and easy - even with the improved UI.

Since the Apple TV 2.0 is made for user interaction, you won’t have a big problem with the usability. Movies will ultimately be one of the biggest reasons why you got the Apple TV in the first place. Good news - browsing movies with this new version will prove to be a breeze. It has a Top Movies section which has a search function and a genre browser. While we’re on the subject, I’ll recommend to have Apple TV remember your Apple login and password to save you the time. Once you’ve got that successfully entered, Apple TV will buffer it up and you can now start viewing your selected movie.

The quality of podcasts, movie trailers, and YouTube videos are also similar to what you get in your computer, but you get it in a much larger screen. TV and music browsing is also very similar and may take some getting used to using the Apple TV remote control. However, once you get the hang of it, then you will do just fine with the remote.

Connect to Entertainment with Apple TV

Apple TV 2.0 really does an excellent job in presenting photos and making them look super slick. This is probably one of the biggest advantages of Apple TV that will convince you to make that purchase.

A problem that most users of Apple TV have is the limited content available in the market today, but if you plan to get one, just be patient that there’s no doubt that more content will be out soon. Come to think of it, when has Apple ever failed the Apple client base? Get the best of your Apple TV 2.0 and enjoy the best of entertainment in your living room.

The Apple TV is currently available in its standard 40GB version and 160GB version.
